What It Is and Why It Matters

Anhydrous calcium chloride products are in a water-free state and therefore found at the higher concentration end of the spectrum, with concentration levels of 94-97% pure and in the form of pellets. 

This purified inorganic salt is produced by removing water from a naturally occurring brine solution. The National Organic Standards Board classifies OxyChem’s brine process as “non-synthetic” since it does not involve reactions with chemicals such as hydrochloric acid or ammonia.

Like any form of calcium chloride, anhydrous calcium chloride is hygroscopic, absorbing moisture from its surroundings when exposed to air, making it a valuable resource used in food processing, dust control, concrete acceleration, and a variety of industrial applications.

BRINERS CHOICE is intended for use in solution form. After dissolving in potable water and filtering to remove insoluble residue, solutions made from BRINERS CHOICE will meet the Food Chemicals Codex monograph for calcium chloride solutions. This product is Kosher certified and Halal compliant.

Food Grade Anhydrous 94-97% Calcium Chloride Pellets are white, free-flowing pellets that are manufactured according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) requirements. This product is intended for use as a direct food additive and will meet the Food Chemicals Codex (FCC) monograph for anhydrous calcium chloride. This product is Kosher certified and Halal Compliant.

Anhydrous Calcium Chloride 94-97% Mini-Pellets are not used in food processing, but are commonly used to formulate high density, solids-free drilling fluids for the oil and gas industry. The product is also used in other applications including concrete acceleration, dust control, and tire weighting.
